隠の王 [Nabari no Ou] (King of Nabari)
Ummm... Modern day Naruto but main character doesn't want to be a ninja and he is told he is to become Nabari no Ou. The art is different then most anime. The backgrounds seem to be more manga like. The copies I got were subbed by ainex and I was kinda irritated that their subtitles would sometime last for split seconds.
Ep1:
Like I mentioned, it is all placed in modern day Japan.
Scene reminds me of Saikano... damn that fucking show, damn it to hell.
Pretty much most what you need to know is established in this episode. The main character is being hunted down cause he has ancient ninjitsu in his body.
Hmmm, where have I seen this before. Sure has a lot of scenes with matrix backdrop lol.
So far, it is one clan that has targetted him; the Ash Wolf clan. A different clan, Banten, that currently consists of his English Teacher Thobari Kumohira Durandal and classmate Kouichi Aizawa are there to protect and train him into becoming a ninja. Unfortunately, the main character Miharu Rokujo wants no part in this ninja world 'Nabari'.
Ep2:
This episode intros a new character, Raimei Shimizu, who will protect Miharu. It's decided that the school isn't the safest place or best to protect and teach Miharu ninjitsu. They take him to Fuuma village. The episode ends as they arrive to an unprotected and unhidden Fuuma village.
Ep3:
Turns out the leader of Fuuma village is currently away. While learning of what's going on in Fuuma village, Miharu and his guardians encounter a ninja named Yoite that knows an advanced art and appears to be unstoppable. With his guardians wounded or next to dead Miharu offers to give in and be taken hostage. The leader of Fuuma village returns from his absence to defend Miharu just as the episode ends.
I'll give it a few more episodes. I'm not really liking Miharu; they've given you no reason to care for the bastard.

Monochrome Factor: Ep4
Episode opens with Akira trying to keep Kengo from learning what happened. In the end Kengo figures it all out. The antaganist causes another person to be possesed. After the defeat of the shadow we find another of Akira's friends can now see them:
Episode was meh, hopefully the next one will explore/explain who the antagonist is.
Parting shot:
Castlevania anyone?

Vampire Knight: Ep4
Episode picks up where three left off. I thought something interesting would have happened but it turned out differently. Since Zero has reached a point where he can no longer supress his urges, he has been transfered to the night classes. It's determined that he will become a degraded form of vampire. The episode ends with the chairman of the school being told that Zero will be investigated since he is the last heir of a Vampire Hunting Clan.

図書館戦争 [Toshokan Sensou] (Library War)
This is a Political/War drama. In this era of Japan a law was created called the Media Cleansing Act to 'regulate unwanted messages that presented a bad influence to society.' I thought of it this way: The Patriot Act gone super wrong; it hinders the freedom of expression. The Library Freedom Act was created to counter the Cleansing Act; in turn, the Libraries formed militias to defend expression through literature. Over 30 years have passed since these laws were enacted and the tension has escalated to all out war.
The Library Freedom emblem.
Ep1:
In this episode we learn enough to know whats going on. It intros and follows our main character Kasahara Iku:
Ep2:
Episode two Starts during Kasa's first day of training in the elite Library Task Force branch of the Librarian Military. She earns a nickname from it:
An attack on the main library she works at occurs and the task force defends itself.
Ep3:
We pick up where episode two left off. More info on the 'Nightmare of Hino" incident is given. A private museum is being shutdown. The task force goes out to secure the documents before the Media Cleansing Committee can destroy important information. All though the entire force is being prepared for full scale battle, Kara is sent alone to protect a dignitary.
I at first thought WTF Library Wars? But after watching it I found I'll enjoy it. I like Political/War dramas like Patlabor and Ghost in the Shell. This has a good premise; many times in history literature has been destroyed to control the masses as a form of oppression. A couple quotes I learned long ago:
Ignorance is self-oppression.
The more you know, the more you know you don't know.Tho I can't remember where I learned the ignorance quote... I might have made that one up and just not remembered :P. The more you know quote is from a history teacher I had in middle school. He was a very tall, very burly, very white, very proud Mormon, that was very proud to have gone to BYU... and had some scary affection toward Disney & Mickey Mouse.

Sawyer is one of my favorite characters in this show, and I dont think he survives does he? :(
So Meatloaf (Hurley) is now some freeky psychic.

The Office: Did I Stutter? (Air Date: May 1st, 2008)
The meta off my guide: Michael tries to give Stanley an attitude adjustment; after spending the night at Jim's, Pam deals with an unexpected inconvenience.
"I'd like to put a piano in front of Pam and see her play it. I'd also like to see her topless." Lmao
"In the gang world we use something called 'Fluffy Fingers.'" XD
Ooo, if they fire Jim for this season finale....
Go Michael! For once he stood up for himself, he whined and got told off by Stanley but he didnt back down and told him face-to-face he is the boss. Too bad they ended the episode with the crappy jokes. I'd have been happy with just the ending in the credits lol.

二十面相の娘 [Nijuu Mensou no Musume] (Duaghter of Twenty Faces)
This is a crime drama. I looked it up a bit and found it is based off of a manga. Watching it made me think the manga must have been fairly well written. I think I'm going to stick this one thru. 探偵学園Q [Tantei Gakuen Q] (Detective Academy Q) was last crime drama I saw lol. This one is more my style I think.
Ep1:
This episode intros two of the main characters; the thief '20 Faces' and a young girl named Chizuko. It establishes the girl as being very intelligent and the thiefs motives for stealing.
Ep2:
In this episode 20 Faces must escape his pursuers from his last job. They leave the nation of Japan and head to China where they work on stealing another valuable treasure. This episode works the young girl more and more into 20 Faces group of thieves; as well as, shows the young girls growth as 20 Faces' protégé.
Ep3:
Episode three pits our band of thieves after two treasures; one in France and the second in the deep sea. While planning and performing the hiest in France, Chiko's Aunt and Uncle hire a detective to search for her. 20 Faces charters a submarine to go on a deep sea expedition. Chiko works hard to be more like her mentor and gain the respect of the band of thieves.
Parting shot:
20 Faces reminds me of Roger from Big O.

To Love: Ep4
In this episode Rito is freaked out even more about becoming king; so, he tries to scare Lulu off with an ultimatum.
However, to his surprise she takes on the challenge. Unfortunately, in the process of trying to meet Rito's demand, things go awry.
Looks like a scene Kuro would enjoy. >_>

Mnemosyne -ムネモシュネの娘たち- [Mnemosyne -Mnemosyne no Musumetachi-] (Mnemosyne -Duaghters of Mnemosyne-)
First off, Mnemosyne (pronounced nee-mos-uh-nee) might seem familiar to you if you know the word Mnemonic. Their root is in regards to memory. Mnemosyne is the personification of memory; she was a titan that birthed the nine muses from Zeus. You can read up on it on wiki.
This isn't so much a TV show as it is a series of OVAs. Three (of most likely six) are currently available, and I believe the 4th broadcasts May 4th. There is some nudity throughout the series and 'grotesque sexual visuals'.
Ep1:
It starts off fairly dramatic with the death of the main character. You later learn she isn't your typical human.
She works as a detective for hire. While tracking a lost cat she finds herself involved in a new case involving a man who has a sort of amnesia; he describes it as not feeling emotion or feeling as if he is living someone eles's life.
Our heroine kills without discretion.
And even tries some of that Catherine Zeta-Jones sneakies stuff.
Ep2:
The detectives are on a case in search of an Angel.
This episode expands on what exactly makes our heroine not the typical human.
Ep3:
This episode involves the investigation of an illness that gets its name from a flower.
My Japanese isn't the best; however, I do believe the 4th episode airs May 4th. I'll keep a look out for it, especially since I wanna know what's up with the Yggdrasil (pronounced ig-druh-sil). Btw, Mnemosyne is Greek & Yggdrasil is Norse.

Blerg!
So I realized last night I had accidentally uploaded over my previous Macross F pics so now I have to recapture and change the image paths for the first post to look correct. :(
Oh wells, at least Blogger lets me use javascript and I can now have a collapasable element to show/hide spoilers. I wrote out the code a lil too complicated only cause I use it for something else and want it to draw the resizing for the other project... good enough for here for what I need; so, copy & paste wins lol.

かのこん [Kanokon]
I think it's a sign, when I take too many screenies of an episode, that I like it lol. I dunno how to explain this, but its silly (and apparently fan service was motive #1 for these animators).
It's about a first year High School guy (Kouta Oyamada)
and this second year girl (Chizuru Minamoto) who has a major crush on him.
Who doesn't like playing Snuggle Bunnies?!
This unusual relationship has caught some attention and our young hero has gotten some flack for it.
In the episode she gives him a lover letter
... and gets him alone in the music room. There she tries to make out and make love to her boy-toy.
In the process she shows him she's really a fox spirit.
She tries to play it off at first
... and pretend its just cosplay.
However, she quickly then gives in and spills the beans... then a lil later they 'merge'.
The guy is just a riot to me. The things he says and the shit he goes through are just too funny at times.
(these two screens made me laugh so hard)
I'm sure I'll stick this thru passed Ep3. Especially since its available in an AVI container! Damn you MKV!
Now to watch the other 3 episodes available!
Ep2:
Omg just lol. "DO YOU UNDASTANDO!?" This show is priceless funny. Tho the fan service is a bit much....
This episode intros a new character:
And the power of boobs!
Poor Kouta.
Or poor Chizuru? Really what do you do when your boobs no longer reel the men in?
And dont forget to play it safe kids!
Kouta is tormented nonstop, but I gotta say, youre really timid or got some real conviction to resist a girl who really doesnt pull the stops:
Sneaking in bed.
Innuendo.
Flat out rush~
All the while attending school and dealing with how everyone else keeps abreast of your life!
Oh ya and that character that was intro'd way at the start.
She wants him too.
Let the love triangle begin!
Say hello everyone~
Of course the girls dont get along either:
Ep3:
o.O end of the episode. I cant even put a pic to adequately explain it.. feel like it would spoil too!
In this episode the two girls try to win our young man's heart through his stomach... at the same time.
>_< If you really must... If I really must!!! Click to see snippettes of the ending. I think it may spoil but the pics are too good to not share!
Ep4:
The intros just get more and more R rated lol. Ok maybe NC-17. They finally find a use for thier 'merge'. Looks like that will come into play as the series moves on and the love triangle developes.
Parting shot:
Caption says: Beware of Molesters! A notice from the PTA with a pic of a flasher playing show n' tell.
